According to the Energy Efficiency Law No. 5627 and the Energy Performance Regulations issued in accordance with this Law, the energy demand and energy consumption classification, greenhouse gas emission level, insulation properties of the buildings at least in order to ensure efficient and efficient use of energy and energy resources, prevention of energy wastage and protection of the environment and information on the availability of heating and / or cooling systems.
In simpler terms, energy performance classifications in white goods or air conditioners, such as refrigerators, washing machines, are now also available for buildings. These classifications were made from A to G. Class A indicates the most productive level while class G indicates the lowest productive level. The certificate indicating this classification in the buildings is called Energy Identity Certificate or EKB in short.
The energy identification documents of new or existing buildings should be designed and constructed to be in the lowest C class. New buildings that are being built or being built at a lower level than class C can not obtain a statutory license.
For existing buildings, the energy identification certificate has no minimum grade level requirement. Existing buildings can receive any class of Energy Identity Certificate from Class A to Class G depending on the parameters such as current heat insulation, windows heat insulation, heating-cooling equipment efficiency, lighting fixture efficiency.
EKB - How to get it?
Engineers or architects who have obtained a certificate of authority for issuing an energy identity certificate and who have an SMM certificate taken from the profession chambers or legal entities holding an engineer or architect possessing such qualifications shall be deemed to be authorized to issue a new Energy Identity Certificate (EKB).
The Energy Efficiency Consultancy (EVD) Companies authorized by the General Directorate of Renewable Energy, which has an EKB Expert engineer or architect, is considered to be an Authorized Organization for issuing Energy Identity Certificate (EKB).
It provides Energy Identity Certificate (EKB) arrangement services for both existing and new buildings through EKB Experts authorized by General Directorate of Renewable Energy and engineers with SMM document.
